Effective date: March 1, 2026

1. Overview

AgingInPlaceNearMe (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at aginginplacenearme.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using our site you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Area requests — your city or region when you ask us to expand coverage, along with an optional name, email, and note.
  • Contact messages — name, email, subject, and message body when you use our contact form.
  • Contractor claims — name, email, phone, and business details when a contractor claims their listing.

Automatically collected data

We log standard server data (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs) to operate and improve the site. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or sell behavioral data.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To route quote requests to the matching contractors you selected.
  • To confirm receipt of your area request or contact message.
  • To verify and activate contractor listings when a claim is submitted.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the site and user experience.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent submissions.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, sell it to data brokers, or share it with anyone except the contractor(s) directly involved in fulfilling your quote request.

4. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Contractors — when you submit a quote request, your contact details and project description are shared with the contractor(s) you are matched with.
  • Service providers — we use infrastructure providers (hosting, database, transactional email) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

5. Data Retention

Quote leads are retained for up to 24 months to allow contractors to follow up. Contact messages and area requests are retained for up to 12 months. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing or request restriction

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the site to function (session tokens). We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics trackers that follow you across the web.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel only. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
